IATF 16949 is an international industry standard and also a technical specification developed by the International Organization for Standardization ISO.
The standard describes the requirements for quality management systems for enterprises engaged in the design, development, production, installation and maintenance of automotive products.
IATF 16949 was prepared by the International Automotive Working Group IATF and the Japan Automobile Manufacturers Association JAMA with the support of ISO TC 176.
